Until I come, devote yourself to the public reading of Scripture, to preaching and to teaching. 1 Timothy 4:13 (NIV)
Do you want to start spending time with God daily? Follow these five tips for developing daily time with God.

This is a noble goal that every Christian should strive for. You may have just made a personal decision or just experienced a spiritual leap to the top of a mountain and want to rekindle the flame of passion you have for God and His Word. Regardless of what moved you to action, you will have a much better chance of developing the habit of spending time with God daily if you follow these five tips.
1. Set a daily reading goal:
Set a specific amount of time or number of chapters you want to read each day. Start with an easily achievable goal and gradually increase it over time.

2. Establish a daily routine:
Choose a specific time and place to read the Bible. It could be in the morning before you start your work day or in the evening before you go to bed. Creating a regular routine will help you develop a habit.

3. Use reading plans:
Use reading plans that break the Bible into manageable sections. Many Bible apps and websites offer reading plans that provide structure and guidance.

4. Get a reading partner:
Find a friend or family member who also wants to be consistent in reading the Bible. Make a commitment to check in with each other regularly, discussing what you have read and encouraging each other.

5. Make reading the Bible your top priority:
Make time to read the Bible by removing any distractions. Turn off your phone notifications, find a quiet place, and create an atmosphere that will help you focus on God’s Word.

Remember that consistency requires discipline and perseverance, but the spiritual nourishment received from regular Bible reading is immeasurable.
Starting a regular daily time with God can be a life-changing experience. You can grow closer to the Lord than ever before by getting to know Him through prayer and reading His Word. Your time with God will be motivated by your deep love for Him and the grace He has poured into your life, not just by keeping a schedule to check a box. Allow yourself to experience the blessings of spending time with the Savior and allow Him to transform your heart so that you reflect the image of Christ in your family, environment, and workplace.
